Dirty Eggs
When I was in my early 20s, my friend Mauricio and I would get brunch at different spots in Detroit on Sunday mornings. When we went to the Majestic Cafe, I’d order their Dirty Eggs. This recipe is a creation of fond memories of a time in my life when friends were family and Detroit was home.
Classic Egg Bites
Nick loves his egg bites and sent me this dude’s video on Instagram for me to try. They turned out fantastic! I made 3 different kinds: Bacon & Gruyere, Sausage, Pepper, & Pepperjack, and Bacon, Cheddar, & Chive. The sausage one was Nick’s favorite.
Savory Breakfast Bowl
Breakfast is the best, am I right? Now that it’s fall, I’m going strong with my savory breakfasts and I’m loving it! I’ve also been super aware of my hot sauces lately (what’s up with that?), and I’ve noticed that the hot sauces I tend to prefer have really specific uses. For instance, Frank’s Red Hot is perfect on grilled cheese and Mac & Cheese. Now then, if I’m being really honest here, the key to this dish is the egg, so the best hot sauce for this bad boy is Cholula. Cholula is fantastic with eggs!
Caprese Bagels
I had a dream about these the other night. I really did, I had a dream I made Caprese bagels, just like my Spinach Florentine bagels, using fresh heirloom tomatoes from the Farmers’ Market. So two days later, after Murphy walked the red carpet of the Milford Farmers’ Market Dog Show, I walked over to Incahoots Farm’s booth and picked up two perfectly plump heirloom tomatoes, went home and shredded my cheese, and couldn’t wait for the next morning! Voila! Dreams really do come true!
